Obviously comfort played a larger role than fashion in travel
attire selection.

We said the below prayer before we embarked.
|

|
O God, my God! I have set out from my home, holding fast unto the cord of Thy love, and I have committed myself wholly to Thy
care and Thy protection. I entreat Thee by Thy power through which Thou didst protect Thy loved ones from the wayward and the perverse, and from
every contumacious oppressor, and every wicked doer who hath strayed far from Thee, to keep me safe by Thy bounty and Thy grace. Enable me, then, to
return to my home by Thy power and Thy might. Thou art, truly, the Almighty, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting. |

So we were one of 200 cars lucky enough to get randomly searched
at the US/Canadian border. It was non-invasive and pleasant and we found copious ways to entertain ourselves. Why would they stop two ladies born
in Iran attempting to travel without passports?! (They only had citizenship cards) Your guess is as good as mine.

 Ahh.... Mmm....Krispy Kreme Donuts...Mmm...
The weather looked like this the entire trip...both ways.
Brian looked like this the entire trip...both ways.
Delara looked like this the entire trip...both ways.

This picture is priceless. It was taken exactly 6
seconds before I went the wrong way at the fork.
About 10 minutes later I sheepishly got back onto the correct
road.

 Delara, a.k.a. Peacock.
Martin with sauce on my mouth.

I told Delta I'd take some time during the trip to teach her
'the point.'

If you can find 4 cooler people please let me know.

[Sightseeing in D.C.]

|
Brian and I traveled to DC with our entire family about eight (8) years ago to visit our family. In
our minds we were familiar with the city. This visit turned that understanding on its head. DC was gorgeous, the buildings were
magnificent, the streets were clean, and the atmosphere was exhilarating. We went ape taking photos and just taking it all in.

 Dept. of Justice.

 Capital Hill.
They jumped out of the car, ran to pose, and then leaped back in
the car.

The quote from the building is below along with two quotes by
Bahá'u'lláh on Justice and Liberty.
|

|
Justice is founded in the rights bestowed by nature upon man. Liberty is maintained in security of justice. |

|
|
Inscribed on Department of Justice Building, Washington D.C. |
|

|
O SON OF SPIRIT!
The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee.
By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the
knowledge of thy neighbor. Ponder this in thy heart; how it behooveth thee to be. Verily justice is My gift to thee and the sign of My
loving-kindness. Set it then before thine eyes. |

Bahá'u'lláh, The Arabic Hidden Words, #2 |
|

|
Consider the pettiness of men's minds. They ask for that which injureth them, and cast away the thing that
profiteth them. They are, indeed, of those that are far astray. We find some men desiring liberty, and priding themselves therein. Such men are in
the depths of ignorance.
Liberty must, in the end, lead to sedition, whose flames none can quench. Thus warneth you He Who is the Reckoner, the All-Knowing. Know ye that the
embodiment of liberty and its symbol is the animal. That which beseemeth man is submission unto such restraints as will protect him from his own
ignorance, and guard him against the harm of the mischief-maker. Liberty causeth man to overstep the bounds of propriety, and to infringe on the
dignity of his station. It debaseth him to the level of extreme depravity and wickedness.
Regard men as a flock of sheep that need a shepherd for their protection. This, verily, is the truth, the certain truth. We approve of liberty in
certain circumstances, and refuse to sanction it in others. We, verily, are the All-Knowing.
Say: True liberty consisteth in man's submission unto My commandments, little as ye know it. Were men to observe that which We have sent down unto
them from the Heaven of Revelation, they would, of a certainty, attain unto perfect liberty. Happy is the man that hath apprehended the Purpose of
God in whatever He hath revealed from the Heaven of His Will, that pervadeth all created things. Say: The liberty that profiteth you is to be found
nowhere except in complete servitude unto God, the Eternal Truth. Whoso hath tasted of its sweetness will refuse to barter it for all the dominion
of earth and heaven.

The holy grail for all you pre-law folks out there.
Saying goodbye to Ladan and Shervin in the Hotel parking garage.
The view once I took 'er to warp.

 Tunnel

We took a break and Delta stumbled into the McDonalds like she
just escaped her captors in a South American Jungle. Brian and I died laughing.

Because I drove I had 4 votes to decide where we ate. My choice?
Taco Bell!
Back in Ottawa, where the skies were beginning to clear up.
 The friendly Kanata sign.
All back safely and better friends to boot.

Their hair was permanently jacked from the trip.
